The counterpart to the photocard driving licence is no longer valid and will no longer be issued. ALL penalty points and driving entitlements of both photocard and paper licence holders will be recorded online.

Instead of using the paper part there will be several ways we can check your licence before hiring a vehicle from us:

  • Provide us with your National Insurance number, licence number and post code on booking so we can check your licence is valid and mark this on our booking system ready for your hire (only valid for bookings within six weeks)
  • Complete the same method as above, but in branch at point of collection (only takes a few minutes to check).
  • Log into DVLA and then generate a licence check code for us to use online and validate your licence without having to provide us with your NI number. Either bring a print out or present it from a smart phone. This is a case sensitive code and lasts 21 days.
  • Use the premium rate number on site when collecting the vehicle at a cost of £5.00 per call. This phone line is only open 8am to 6pm Mon – Fri and Sat morning.
